“Our Selves, Our Daughters Workshop: Exploring a Culturally Competent Approach to Understanding Female Circumcision” is a workshop offered by the Sexuality Education Resource Centre in Winnipeg. It is the same workshop, repeated twice: June 17 and June 22. (Please don’t confuse this workshop for the brown bag lunch that is also being planned on the subject.)

This workshop is designed for SERVICE PROVIDERS. We are also addressing ways to share information with community groups.

This workshop is for you if:
- You work with immigrant and refugee women from countries where female circumcision (or FGC, female genital cutting) is practiced (some examples include Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, among others) is practised.
- You wish to increase your understanding of a cultural practice of which you have little information.
- You wish to further your cultural responsiveness regarding FGC.
- You have a solid understanding of cultural competence and/or have had some training in the past.
