Some of the events for Black History Month that are taking place in Canada:

Toronto:

Tuesday, February 22 at 7 PM - FREE at the NFB Mediatheque (150 John St.)
The Ontario Black History Society presents a screening of Resilience – Stories of Single Black Mothers, a collective memory of single mothers. What emerges from this story is a counter to stereotypes, which is replaced by a complex and richly detailed portrait of real women. Director Lana Lovell will be in attendance.

Monday February 28th, 2011
QUEERING BLACK HISTORY MONTH!
What: Panel Discussion and Celebratory Art Reception
Why: Queer and Trans bodies have always been involved in creating history. Let’s Celebrate it and Queer up Black History Month
