At Ottawa's first Women's Mental Health Conference, speakers and panelists will present and discuss leading-edge research and best practices for mental health care that reflects women's unique physiological, psychological and social needs across the lifespan.
The conference will include topics designed to interest medical practitioners, clinicians, health professionals and community workers.
Dr. Claudio Soares will present research on Mood disorders and Perimenopause, Dr. Dennis Raphael will speak on the Social Determinants of Women's Mental Health, Dr. Valerie Taylor will discuss Young Women, Self Esteem, Body Image and Mood, Dr. Charmaine Williams will present Women's Caring: psychological, and social issues and Dr. Jasmine Ghandi on Perinatal Mood Disorders. Other hot topics to include the Effects of Estrogen on Cognition and Dementia, Depression and Aging.
