Where: Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, 209 Victoria St., 2nd floor room 211

St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto

This session is offered by videoconference through the Ontario Telemedicine Network and via webcast.

Using a community-engaged research model and integrated KT approach, the POWER Study has examined a comprehensive set of evidence-based indicators bridging population health and health system performance. The Women's Health Equity Report serves as an evidence-based tool for policy makers, providers and consumers in their efforts to improve health and reduce health inequities in Ontario.

Older Women’s Health is a supplement to the POWER report. This supplement examines the health of older women in Ontario and the quality of care that they receive, including differences by gender, age, socioeconomic status, and geography. In this report, we have re-examined and synthesized a selection of quality indicators reported in previous POWER Study chapters to paint a picture of overall health and how care is currently being provided to older adults in Ontario. We also include new indicators related to two particularly important settings of care for aging Ontarians: home care services and long-term care.
