November 25 to December 6, is YWCA Canada’s annual Rose Campaign to end violence against women and girls. Named for the rose button commemoratingthe murder of 14 young women at Montréal’s l'École Polytechnique on December 6, 1989 – which called on Canadians to first mourn, and then work for change – the annual Rose Campaign also marks December 6 as Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
