The BC Centre of Excellence for Women's Health (BCCEWH) will host a webinar on March 22 on 2 resources about women and tobacco: Liberation!: Women Centred Tobacco Brief Intervention Guide and a Women and Tobacco Casebook.
BCCEWH has recently developed a cessation guide on women and tobacco, entitled Liberation!: Women Centred Tobacco Brief Intervention Guide. It is aimed at providers to assist them in respectfully addressing tobacco use with women, and encouraging changes for women that are in keeping with women's lives and circumstances. The guide is informal and intended to be used in a range of settings. They have also created a casebook to promote awareness of issues associated with women and tobacco, that includes local and global examples of action on women and tobacco, and has a focus on tobacco as more than an individual health issue.
The webinar is designed to promote discussion of the usefulness of this guide and casebook. They will send the two resources to you beforehand so that you can discuss their usefulness for your work. They look forward to participation by practitioners, and those working for national organizations with mandates that involve support on tobacco.
Date: Friday, March 22, 2013
Time: 8:00 AM PDT (11:00 AM EDT)
