National Organization of Immigrant and Visible Minority Women of Canada

NOIVMWC is an umbrella national organization with a vision of creating equality for all women. It was created in 1986 with a focus on forming a united national voice to ensure equality for immigrant and visible minority women within bilingual Canada. NOIVMWC advocates for various issues affecting immigrant and visible minority women. We have made significant progress on many fronts and our activities are becoming more important, considering the increasing diversity of the Canadian population.

South Asian Women's Centre
Offers multilingual and culturally sensitive information, referral, and support services to women who are from, or who trace their ancestry to, any of the countries of South Asia (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan). Undertakes advocacy, public education, and awareness work on issues that affect South Asian women such as violence, racism, immigration, and unemployment. Provides a safe, supportive, and confidential place for South Asian women who are experiencing male and family violence. (See Details)
Riverdale Immigrant Women's Centre

Supports Chinese and South Asian women in taking greater control of their lives. Provides cultural and language specific services. These community determined strategies are developed and delivered by immigrant women.

African Community Health Services

Caters to to African immigrants and African Canadians and is dedicated to the promotional of the mental, socio-economic, physical and cultural health of African Canadians, primarily in Ontario. Offers an inter-African HIV/AIDS project that provices supportive education, counselling, and referral and practical support for urban youth, young adults including gay and lesbian youth, troubled youth, youth with addictions and those involved in prostitution.

Women's Health in Women's Hands

Works to enhance sense of self-esteem and health by placing women's health into women's hands. It is a participatory centre for women of diverse backgrounds and needs. Constantly challenge our assumptions and analysis and we are committed to being advocates for change in our community.

Working Women Community Centre
Assists immmigrant women to overcome obstacles in areas such as employment, training, education, housing, health, legal matters, family dynamics and social services. Promotes the development of self-sufficiency skills among immigrant women. (See Details)
Afghan Association of Ontario
Offers settlement assistance to Afghan immigrants and refugees.
Jewish Immigrant Aid Services of Canada, National Office
Forms an organization that serves as the voice of the Canadian Jewish community on issues of integration and re-settlement in Canada. Champions the cause of new immigrants and refugees by positively influencing Canadian immigration laws, policies and practices, and by ensuring that they are humane in nature and responsive to the needs of potential newcomers. Promotes the long-term integration of newcomers into local Jewish communities from coast to coast by building partnerships between immigrants, government, charitable foundations, employers, service providers and volunteers. (See Details)
Rexdale Women's Centre
Provides culturally and linguistically sensitive settlement counselling services for women and immigrant women and their dependents. Increases or enhances women's and immigrant womens' skills and knowledge about issues related to their settlement and integration into the community.
