The country’s oldest largest women's multi-service organization. With 33 Member Associations operating in more than 400 districts and communities across the country, their Turning Point Programs for Women™ - which address personal safety, economic security and well-being – reach out to 1 million women and girls in nine provinces and one territory. YWCA is the largest national provider of shelter to women, serving 25,000 women, children and teen girls including 6,000 fleeing domestic violence each year. They are the largest provider of literacy, life skills, employment and counselling programs in the country, and the second largest provider of childcare services. YWCA Canada is a member association of the World YWCA which unites 25 million women and girls worldwide and spans 125 countries.

Haldimand & Norfolk Women's Sevices is a charitable, non-profit corporation governed by an elected Board of Directors. Programs and services are funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Ministry of Child & Youth Services and the Ministry of Health. Project Grants have been made availible through the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Ministry of the Attorney General. Our many programs and services are enhanced by the generous support of community donations.

 

In addition to the services and programs for women who have experienced abuse and children who witness abuse, we educate and advocate for social, cultural and political change for women's equality and human rights.

Women’s Housing Equality Network

A national organization working on women's housing issues in Canada. Includes representatives from every province and territory. WHEN has been working since 2003 to improve poor women's housing conditions across the country.  WHEN aims to put women's housing and homelessness issues on political, legal and policy agendas across Canada. Using a human rights framework, they  advocate for policies and programs that will improve women's access to housing that is safe, secure, stable and affordable.
