Examines the feasibility of linking a sample of the Mantioba Metis Federation (MMF) membership list to Manitoba Health and CancerCare Manitoba databases and to use the resulting linked records to provide estimates of the health status of the Manitoba's Metis population and their utilization of medical services. Demonstrates that the findings suggest that their health profile is closer to that of the First Nation people, that it is to the general Manitoba population.

Presents information to educate Métis people and communities about ways to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS and understand what it’s like for those who are living with HIV/AIDS.

Examines potential years of life lost at ages 25 to 74 by cause of death among Métis and non-Status Indians, compared with non-Aboriginal adults, and assesses the influence of socio-economic factors on disparities in premature mortality. Contains data for Aboriginal women that is separate from data for men.
