For those readers who don't know about the work of the CWHN outside of this publication, we encourage discussion, education and research on a wide range of issues and developments that are important to women's health. We fulfill this mandate not only through Network, but through our web site, our information clearinghouse and a variety of other projects.
This year saw the birth of our on-line databases, thanks to the hard work of those in our clearinghouse department. Built to track organizations, research and projects, resources, and individuals, the CWHN databases can be accessed through our web site (see below). Victoria Javier joined our team in January, succeeding Pat Fader, who did much of the initial groundwork for the clearinghouse. Victoria is now working with our new summer intern, Jennifer Litchfield, researching new resources and entering in the extensive data collected for our databases.
We're spinning out a new look for our web site, thanks to the design skills of our new web site coordinator, Jodine Pratt, who joined us in April. Jodine will slowly but surely be adding some spice to our web site, organized with extensive women's health links and information by her predecessor, Laura Buchan.
Look for the completed new design in the Fall (www.cwhn.ca).
We also have new developments in our Coordinating Committee/Board of Directors. Anne Rochon Ford and Carla Marcelis have left well, sort of! Luckily for us, Anne will continue to help with Network's Advisory Committee, and Carla has been working at filling our databases with French organizations through Le Réseau québécois d'action pour la santé des femmes.
Recent additions to our Coordinating Committee are Martha Muzychka and Maria Barile. And our newest additions are Suzanne Rajotte, Abby Lippman, and Barbara Anello. These women all bring wonderful expertise and wisdom to help guide us in this post partum period. We look forward to the next steps.
If you haven't yet done so, consider joining the CWHN. Contact us for details.
The CWHN wants you in our system.
Our national databases will help us connect people to health services, information and materials from across the country. It'll also help people find your organization if you send contact information to:
