Breast Cancer Action: Send Campbell's a message today about toxic soup can linings

The Breast Cancer Fund is asking supporters today (June 12) to join them on Facebook and Twitter to send Campbell Soup Company an urgent demand:

Campbell's, spell it out for us: what's in your can linings?

Here's what the Breast Cancer Fund is saying:

"Campbell's recently announced that it will stop using the toxic chemical BPA in the lining of its food cans (in fact, it's already using a replacement in some soups—we just don't know which ones), but the company hasn't been willing to tell the Breast Cancer Fund or the public what it's using instead.

"People all across the country will be posting this question on social media today to let Campbell's know that they want full disclosure about the chemicals in their food. Join them and help us move this industry leader!

"'BPA-free' isn't enough. Some of the alternatives, like PVC, may be equally troubling. Others, like BPS, just plain haven't been tested enough for us to know if they're safe or not.

"For the last year, our Cans Not Cancer campaign has been asking manufacturers to stop using BPA in food cans and replace it with a safe alternative. With your help, the BPA-free part of that message has been heard loud and clear by companies like Campbell's. Now let's show them a safe replacement is just as important."
