Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Desmarais Building, Room 3120, University of Ottawa, 55 Laurier Street East, Ottawa
Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW-ICREF), as a bilingual research institute in Canada with an exclusive focus on feminist research, provides tools to facilitate organizations taking action to advance social justice and equality for all women. Generations of feminists and activists at CRIAW-ICREF have been documenting the socio-economic situation of women in Canada through innovative research for 35 years.
This noon time event is a celebration of CRIAW-ICREF’s accomplishments during the last 35 years (beginning at 1 p.m.), as well as a time to propose new ideas and suggestions for future feminist research that enriches the Canadian feminist movement.
You may order (and prepay) a box lunch in advance at the Information Table CRIAW-ICREF will have at Women’s Worlds, Jock Turcot University Center (orders for lunch may be made there between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from Monday, July 4 to Wednesday, July 6), or you may make your own lunch arrangements (there will be a food fair on the University of Ottawa campus Tabaret Lawn, or you could provide your own food). They will offer a celebratory cake at 1:45 p.m.
