SACHA Sexual Assault Centre
Women Today of Huron
Forms a community-based, rural women’s resource centre that works with women and girls in Huron County. Provides programs that aim to enhance the economic self-reliance of women, offer violence prevention education to the community, undertake participatory action research on issues that concern rural women, and get involved in collaborative community initiatives in partnership with sister agencies in Huron County and elsewhere. Assaulted Women's Helpline
Provides a 24-hour telephone and TTY line for women in the province of Ontario for: crisis counselling; emotional support; safety planning; guidance around options; and, referrals for shelters, rape crisis centres, legal services and supports, community based supports, criminal justice supports and services, counsellors and therapists, support groups, and culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Nuluaq Project

White Ribbon Campaign

Organization of men working to end violence against women (VAW). Campaigns are led by both men and women, even though the focus is on educating men and boys. In some countries it is a general public education effort focused on ending violence against women.

Coalition for Gun Control

Founded in the wake of the Montreal massacre, the Coalition for Gun Control was formed to reduce gun death, injury and crime. The Coalition supports:
Legislation which includes:

• possession permits which are periodically renewed for ALL gun owners
• a cost-effective system to register all guns
• a total ban on assault weapons and large capacity magazines
• controls on the sale of ammunition
• tougher restrictions on handguns
