Founded in the wake of the Montreal massacre, the Coalition for Gun Control was formed to reduce gun death, injury and crime. The Coalition supports:
Legislation which includes:

• possession permits which are periodically renewed for ALL gun owners
• a cost-effective system to register all guns
• a total ban on assault weapons and large capacity magazines
• controls on the sale of ammunition
• tougher restrictions on handguns

Vancouver organization committed to the work of ending violence against women through providing direct service, as well as working to increase awareness of and education around the scope and impact on our communities of men's violence against women and children.

Builds the capacity of communities, organizations, and institutions to advance the right to live free from sexual violence and reduce the harm it causes individuals, families, and society. Informs the community about available resources for services, education and training, documents the problem of sexual assault/abuse in the city, analyzes city system policy and its effect on survivors, improves systems through advocacy, educates the public, disseminates information, serves as a clearinghouse, represents the needs of NYC sexual assault/abuse survivors, links with other organizations to advance their agenda, initiates and supports research on relevant issues.

Advises the Minister Responsible with respect to matters relating to the status of women, the development of public awareness regarding issues affecting women, and the promotion of change in attitudes within the community in order that women may enjoy an equality of opportunity.

Organization of men working to end violence against women (VAW). Campaigns are led by both men and women, even though the focus is on educating men and boys. In some countries it is a general public education effort focused on ending violence against women.
