The Salvation Army provides a number of services for all people in need. Both men's and women's residences are available, and the Crisis Stabilization Unit provides counselling and a place to stay. Also provided is the Work Readiness Program for help in finding employment, the Literacy Upgrading program, and the Family Tracing Service (Missing Persons).
Street Connections is a street outreach program of Mount Carmel Clinic operating out of two Inner-City sites (one specifically for women) plus a mobile van, which provides a wide variety of services in a non-judgmental manner. Our services are available to: male and female prostitutes; street youth; solvent users; intravenous drug users; other street involved people.
Provides 3-6 months housing program, with the goal to orientate individuals about life skills, provide advocacy, and work with individuals to re-establish themselves in the community.
