Supports immigrant and refugee individuals and families in attaining optimum health through relevant health education, community development and advocacy
Works toward preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS in South Asian communities, principally in the greater Toronto area. Offers programs in preventive education, advocacy, resource development, volunteer development, and support for people living with HIV and AIDS. Offers resources and services in Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Punjabi, Bengali and Gujarati.
Provides culturally-sensitive services to immigrant and visible minority women, children, and families who are experiencing family violence. Bilingual/bicultural workers provide individual and group counselling women in situations of family violence prior to, during, and after their stay in a transition house; supportive services for interactions with the legal and social systems; and volunteer training to develop organizational and leadership skills. Also provides supportive counselling and referral for women who are victims of sexual assault or adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Supports Chinese and South Asian women in taking greater control of their lives. Provides cultural and language specific services. These community determined strategies are developed and delivered by immigrant women.
Provides a free counselling, legal and cultural interpreter service for women age 18 or over who have experienced physical, sexual and/or psychological abuse.
