Works to improve the coordination of abuse prevention services and resources in Inuit communities. Conducts research, provides a national Inuit database for abuse prevention and women's shelters and shares information with the public.
Develops policy, programs and legislation for health and social services in the NWT. Promotes, maintains and enhances the health and well-being of the NWT population; and provides support to local boards assuming a larger role in managing and delivering health and social services programs.
