This conference underlined how some components of diversity, such as culture, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, and geographic location, simultaneously influence women's health. The diversity of research methods, interventions, processes and partnerships were discussed. As well, success stories and recommendations when accounting for diversity were featured. An overview of research and interventions concerning women's health were presented in order to identify and discuss the complexities of issues relative to the integration of diversity in the academic, community, health services and policy areas. It was expected that existing networks would be consolidated and new ones created to advocate policies that are sensitive to the diverse health needs of women.
